We follow New Britain’s snow decisions. If New Britain delays or cancels, then we do as well. This is also true for early dismissals.
Please note that for weather-related/emergency early dismissals, we dismiss at 11:00 AM
If New Britain closes: there is no school, even if your town is open.
If New Britain has a delay: our school is delayed by the same time as New Britain.
If New Britain is open, but your town is closed: we will hold school but transportation won’t be provided by your town. If you can bring them, that’s great. If you can’t, then their absence is excused.
If New Britain is open, but your town has a delay, follow your town’s delay schedule, and students will miss the first 2 hours but be able to attend the rest of their schedule.
Transportation will be provided by your town according to our delay schedule. (In other words, if we delay 2 hours, your child should be at his/her bus stop 2 hours after the usual time, and your town should provide a bus)
When I receive notification from New Britain, we post any delays and cancellations to ParentSquare.
We also contact the local news stations (WFSB, Fox61, and NBC30), who post this information on TV
For scheduled cancellations (such as April vacation), each town will provide transportation to us, even if your local schools are closed.
